The Missouri River is fishing well. Fish are spread out in the longer runs and softer flats. They’re sitting close to the bottom and not moving far, so it’s more about staying on good water than bouncing around.
Nymphing has been the most consistent. sow bugs with small zebra midges or scuds have been getting it done. Pretty standard Missouri stuff—small bugs and clean drifts. If you’re not ticking bottom every once in a while, add weight before changing flies.
There have been some fish coming up during calmer parts of the day. Mostly midges, and it’s usually in the softer water. It’s not an all-day thing, but it’s there if you watch for it.
Streamer fishing isn’t a big part of it right now, but you can still move a fish if you stick with it and slow it down.
The Missouri’s been consistent. Just slow down, focus on your drift, and fish the water that looks right.
